Formal Wear

Hey it's Abby again! This entry is 100% dedicated to those young folks out there who don't know what to wear for a formal occasion! Plus, this is mostly dedicated to the spring so sorry for those of you who don't know what to wear for the winter.... I'll try to add a smallish section down at the bottom! But for those of you who have a big event coming up and have simply NO idea what to wear, you've come to the rightttt placeeee!
For teenage girls lets say from 13-15...
Cotillion: Wear a light pink SHORT dress that has lots of ruffles and is pretty puffy! If you're daring enough try a pair of peep-toe hot pink flats, mixing colors will be VERY hot in the spring. If you don't want your feet to hurt all night try a pair of hot pink or silver flats that are super bedazzled!
If you aren't a pink kinda gal, try wearing a purple sorta metalic dress with gems on top, try to make this dress slightly 2d, not puffy. I mean I'm simply in LOVE with the puffy look but some girls just don't go for it! With this type of dress ABSALOUTLEY POSITIVELY NO HEELS! Your dress will just look stupid! Make them silver plain flats! end. of. story.
And if you're a TOTAL plane jane and decide to have simply no color then wear either a silver, gold, white, or light green dress with a belt across the waist and flats of course!
For 16-19 year old girls...
A party: Ok, so lets say you get invited to this super formal party for a friend or family member, what are you to wear? A ball gown perhaps? A maxi dress? NO WAY! Those are sooo last year! Wear a brightly color short and volumized dress with colorful heals (in the same color family) to match! Probably yellow or maybe orange or pink? Depending on your style of course! Now you are a big girl, so go CRAZY with accessories! headbands, bags, barrets, braclets, necklaces, belts, the numbers are endless! So just remember these tips and you'll be the hotest girl to walk into the party!
For 20 +........
A formal birthday or celebration: Don't be too showy at one of these events, sure you want to stand out MAJORLY but you can't, this party is for somebody else girlfriend! Now what to do what to do.... if you aren't a dress person wear a shortish skirt thats probably a metalic silvery color and a light pink or light green tank top underneath and some flats and maybe a white belt... you'll loook really good but not take the shine from the person you're celebrating for!
OK I've decided to do a small section on winter dresses!
For anything formal: Wear a lightly colored shade of a bright color that has lots of sequins, but not too many so that you look like a little kid! haha!
